For seasonal businesses, the time between Memorial Day and Labor Day can be a pressure cooker. Any tasks other than running the operation get pushed to the back burner.
But it doesn’t have to be that way. With POC YOUniversity Summer School, students can learn critical leadership skills that will help them stay engaged, reduce turnover in your staff and create even more amazing guest experiences!
So far, the top three questions about POC YOUniversity Summer School are:
Who is this for?
Can I enroll more than one person?
What’s the content like?
Let me answer those for you!
POC YOUniversity Summer School will take the guesswork and burden out of developing your up-and-coming leaders DURING the season!
Designed for front-line operational leaders, the lessons are broken into bite-sized portions (usually less than 10 minutes), perfect for quick learning while still serving your teams and your guests.
The experience
Each lesson comes from the practical experience of Matt Heller, a 35+ year veteran of the attractions industry, someone who lived in the trenches for many years and can share real-life examples and strategies to the next generation of leaders. Lessons include immediate takeaways and ideas for application to build skills quickly.
The 16 lessons include topics such as:
Recognition
Accountability
Teamwork
Leadership Influence
Communication
Managing Conflict
Coaching
Managing Up
And more!!
Students will be presented with articles and videos supporting the main topic in each lesson, along with a Call to Action. This will be their opportunity to determine how they are going to apply their learnings in the week ahead. For accountability, the next lesson prompts them to recall and reflect on the progress they have made the previous week.
By the end of the program, participants will have learned about and practiced 16 critical leadership skills!
The audience
Individuals taking on an operational leadership role in any department or discipline (guest facing or non-guest facing). Appropriate for people with titles such as Supervisor, Lead, Coordinator, or Manager, both full time and seasonal.
Per student investment is $99/month (4 months/16 weeks)

POC YOUniversity Summer School is hosted on Patreon. If you already have a Patreon account, great! If not, you will be asked to create one at the time of enrollment. This allows you access to the content inside the program.
One of Patreon’s quirks is that is offers monthly memberships, but does not have a provision for only a 4 month membership, nor will it allow the admin (me) to alter your membership status, which would be weird anyway. So, at the end of the program (after Labor Day), you will be able to cancel your membership or continue on as a free member. I am going to stop posting exclusive content on Labor Day, so there is no reason to pay me after that!
Don’t worry, I’ll remind you of this along the way and walk you through the process.
